Community Rotations.....

For my last two rotations I've been working at Albertsons. In July I was in Cheyenne & now I'm in Laramie for August. I absolutely loved the rotation in Cheyenne. The people that I was able to work with were amazing & I feel like I fit right in. It was such a fun environment to work in. I was really sad when my time was over there - actually I may or may not have cried.
My final project was making a poster about Shingles. My preceptor was impressed with the final product, which makes me happy because I spent hours making it. Garry ended up displaying it right outside of the pharmacy.
The people I've had the privilege of working with at all my sites have made me feel very welcome and I learned so much. It affirmed to me that I love what I'm going to do when I graduate, and it makes me excited to go to work every day. I can't wait to graduate so I can work every day and not have to worry about doing homework.

Last Piece of the Puzzle.....

I was happy when I got my Rotation Schedule, but I still couldn't relax fully because I was waiting to hear about my Seminar Topic. Over the course of the year of rotations, we have 3 separate Reflective Weeks (after 4 months of rotations) where we have various presentations and assignments due. At one of the three reflective weeks, each student has to give a 35 minute presentation and then answer questions for about 10 minutes. It's a big part of determining my grade for my final year of school.

Luckily I got assigned to present in the Reflective Week that I wanted, the 1st one, at the end of September. My topic I was assigned wasn't at the top of my list, but I was happy with it overall. I get to speak on Diabetes Insipidus. I don't know a lot about this topic, which is a bit nerve-racking, but I'm sure it will turn out okay.

This is one of the things I was most nervous about because I get very uncomfortable when I speak in front of people. So I will be very happy when this is over, and I can relax & enjoy my rotations.

**My blog has been pretty boring for the most part, but I don't really have much to talk about except for school & getting ready for my final year of pharmacy school. It's a huge part of my life, it takes a lot of my time & effort, and it is pretty much all I think about. Hopefully once I'm done with school I'll lead a little bit more of an exciting life!**

Done & Done.....

I am officially a P4 student as of an hour ago. I just finished my last final ever, and I couldn't be more excited! The only thing that can top how I feel right now is next year when I'm completely done.

It seems surreal that I am so close to the career I've wanted to have since I was a little girl. As excited as I am, it's a little weird to think that the life I've known for the past 6 years (waking up, going to class, doing homework, studying, and wanting to pull my hair out) is never going to happen again. I'm going to miss my friends that I've made, and it's bittersweet to know that I won't be seeing them every day anymore.

I snapped this picture my final day of classes, and I can definitely say that I won't miss listening to lectures every day.
I'm so blessed to have been accepted and survived this difficult program, and I can't wait to get to the final stage of my education so I can be finished with school for the rest of my life.

A Good Day to be a Cowboy.....

Tuesday night our Cowboy basketball team played San Diego State. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go tonight because it didn't start until 9:00, and I had an early class the next day. I decided I better go because our boys are known for playing well again ranked opponents in the AA, and well they definitely didn't disappoint! They dominated and lead by about 10 points for a majority of the game. Our crowd was awesome and cheered like crazy the entire game. The second the buzzer rang, the students stormed the court, I guess we were pretty excited about beating the 5th ranked team in the nation! It's the best game I've seen our boys play all season. It was a great day to be Cowboy fan that's for sure! I'm glad we decided to go, I would have been disappointed if I had missed out on this one. Watching the different Cowboy/Cowgirl games is going to be one of the things I miss the most when I'm done with school. It's my favorite thing to do while I'm here!
On a different note, I'm starting into my exams, which means my semester is finally starting. I have an exam pretty much every week for the rest of the semester. I just had an exam yesterday in Pharm Administration, put in my preferences for rotations today, have an exam in Therapeutics on Monday, a presentation Friday, an exam in Sterile Products the next Monday, then I'll head to Regional Basketball, have my Economics midterm the Wednesday after I get back, then it's State Basketball, and the week after that is Spring Break. It seems like this semester is flying by in some ways, but going slow in others. With the anticipation of being done with classes forever makes the time seem like it will never end, hopefully that's not the case.

We didn't do anything special for Valentines Day today. All we did was sit at home, watched movies, and ordered pizza for dinner. The best part of our day was getting some beautiful flowers, thanks to our sweet parents. It definitely made our day :)

The Countdown's On.....

I'm so excited, school is winding down. I just had my last Monday class. I'm going to be counting down everyday, until summer is finally here. I took 2 exams today, I have a speech on Thursday, PE labs due, and another quiz on Friday. Then 4 finals next week! It's going to be a busy two weeks, which means it's going to go quick.

This weekend, Dani & I are going to switch rooms. I figured it was time to give up my big room, bathroom, & closet. It's going to be really different after being in that room for 4 years.

I have one final Tuesday, two on Wednesday, and one on Friday. My car will be packed, and I'm going to take off as soon as I turn in my exam. This summer will be great: seeing my beautiful new babies of the family, no rotations to go to, spending time with friends and family, and making money! Let the countdown begin....

Light at the End of the Tunnel.....

It's finally the end of the semester. All I have left now is finals week. I've got four finals and one presentation this week, and I'm actually done with my first final in Med Chem. Now I'm completely done with three of my classes. Three down, four to go!! I'm doing better in my classes this semester so finals aren't as stressful, but I still want to do really well to hopefully keep my grades where they are.

On Wednesday I have my final in Kinetics and my presentation in Drug-Use, Thursday I have my Self-Care final, and on Friday I have my Patho final. Luckily it's in the morning, so I get to head back to Lovell Friday afternoon.

This has been an intense, stressful school year with everything that I've had going on, and I'm excited to have summer vacation just around the corner. It's time for this week to be over so I can get back home and have a real break for a few weeks before rotations start... summer vacation, here I come!!

Time Flies.....

Usually the saying goes time flies when you're having fun. Well for me time is flying by but not because I'm having fun. I've had some good times this semester with my friends & Dani, but for the most party it's because I'm super busy with everything that I have to do. There's not much down time that I have.

There's never a dull moment in my schedule with going to class, weekly quizzes, lab, presentations, exams, my calling, and now +1's with the Sister Missionaries. My to do list has plenty of stuff on it each and every day, there's always something that I have to study for.

The good thing about a busy semester is that it goes by quickly. Next weekend I get to have a nice break and get to head to Casper to watch state basketball and see my family. I can't wait to have a weekend when I'm not going to have think about schoolwork.
The week after that I don't have any exams... AMAZING! I don't even know what that's going to feel like. At the end of the week after I get back from state is Spring Break. I can't believe it's already that time of year. There's only a month left of school after that. I can't believe how quick it's going by. I've already had 2 exams in one of my classes, and it feels like we haven't even been in school that long.

February is almost over, and it has just flown by. That's the one nice thing about having a super busy semester, it makes time go quick, and that's the best thing you can ask for when you have a busy, stressful, hard semester!!

Crazy Busy....

Well, my semester is starting to get crazy. I haven't had too much going on these first few weeks, other than weekly quizzes. For the most part they aren't too bad, they're mostly used for attendance or to make sure we're keeping up with the material, with the exception of my Pharmacy Practice quizzes. For those ones I've got lots of drugs to memorize every week. I've got to know all the side effects, counseling points, brand/generic names, uses, and lots of other information about each drug.

Next week is the start of all my madness, so naturally I'm putting off studying & doing my work and updating my blog (I'll do anything to get out of studying a little longer). I have two exams (Pathophysiology- Monday morning & Pharmacokinetics- Wednesday afternoon), three quizzes (Pharmacy Practice- Monday, Self-Care- Tuesday, & Med Chem- Friday), a meeting with my group for a Pathophys presentation (Thursday), and finally a training meeting with the Stake Relief Society presidency for my calling (also Thursday).

It all makes it a little easier because my classes are very interesting for the most part, and I can actually see why I need to know what I'm learning since it's stuff that I'll actually need to know. I know it's going to be worth it, and that's why I'm wanting to put myself through wanting to pull my hair out or sometimes even blow my brains out, but I remind myself that I love what I'm going into. The time is going to go by way quick, my four years will be over before I know it, and then I'll never have to take another test or do homework again.

I also really enjoy my calling. My counselors & secretary are amazing and are willing to help me with anything. This has made a huge difference in my life, and I know that I'm able to stay calm and not stress out too bad with school right now because I'm finding ways to balance everything I have to do throughout the week, and this entire semester.

I'm going to be extremely busy for the remainder of the semester, but luckily I have more weeks this semester without any exams than last semester, so I at least have a break and time to relax (a little bit). Hopefully with my busy schedule & everything that needs to get done the semester will go by quick, & I'll have an entire year of school under my belt.

Busy Weekend....

I've been pretty busy this last week and this next week as well. Not only with school but also with church and watching volleyball. At the beginning of the week, I had a Biochem exam on Monday. I'm hoping I did alright on that one, it didn't seem too bad, but it's hard to tell.
That night I had a Presidency meeting for about an hour and studied for my exam that was the next morning.

Tuesday I had a Pharm Calc exam. That was extremely difficult, one of the hardest tests I've ever taken. Not because the material was difficult by any means, but the amount of time that was permitted made it difficult to finish it, in fact I wasn't able to get through the entire thing (nobody else was either!).
That night Dani, Kristen, & I watched the UW volleyball game vs. Colorado Christian University. It was a fun game to watch, and we won!!

On Wednesday afternoon, I got a text message from Brother Bailey asking me to speak tomorrow because the original people that were called to speak cancelled because they found out they were going to be out of town.

Yesterday Dani & I headed to Fort Collins to watch the CSU vs. UW volleyball game. Well, it wasn't the prettiest game I've watched, UW wasn't on their best game and CSU has some amazing hitters (UW lost, sadly). The trip there and back home was an adventure in itself. We got into town in before the game started. I know where the campus is but wasn't sure where the gym was at, so we drove all around the campus, hit a few dead ends, & finally we made it to the game where we had to park pretty far away & walk in the pouring rain to get to the gym. After the game was over we got back to the car to head home, turned down the wrong direction & got lost. We ended up pulling over & using my navigation system to find our way back to the main road. Thank goodness for that, or we still might be stuck in Fort Collins!!

Today I spent the day getting my talk ready & studying for Dose form because I have that exam on Monday.

Tomorrow morning I have to go to the PEC meeting because Michelle is out of town. I then have to go to prayer meeting and then speak in Sacrament Meeting. I always get super nervous to give a talk because I really don't like speaking in front of people and having everyone look at me. This is only the second talk I've had to give since I've been down here.

Monday morning I have an exam in Dose Form. Then right after that I have to meet with my advisor to go over the classes I'm going to be taking next semester, and getting my PERC number so I can register. At 5 I have another meeting as the Relief Society presidency, with FHE right after that.
When the week is over I get to go to Lovell to see my family! I'm so excited to see everyone. It's been a stressful semester, and it'll be nice to get to relax and see my friends and family! At least there's something to help me get through the rest of the week!! :)

Halfway There.....

The semester is going by so quick. I can't believe that at the end of the week, it's going to be halfway through the semester. School just keeps going by so quick. It seems like I'm going to be in school for so long, since I still have another three and a half years left. How fast it's going I know it'll be over before I know it.

There's a lot of things I get to look forward to to get through the rest of the semester. At the end of October I'm heading home for the weekend, then Melissa is going to be down in Laramie for about a week. Then I'll have another 3 weeks until Thanksgiving Break. After that the semester is almost over! There's only one week left of classes and then finals! It's going to be a great feeling when this semester is over.

This is the hardest semester ever. As hard as I thought last semester was, I'd take that hands down compared to this semester. I'm going to be happy when I finally get through this semester. It's been a ton of work already (not that I didn't think it was going to be).

On Friday, I had to shadow a P4 student at the Poudre Infusion Center in Fort Collins. The pharmacists there asked me if I was ready to quit school already. I know it's going to be a long amount of time in some ways, and such a short time in others. It'll be worth it in the end, even if it difficult right now.

Survival.....

Well I was able to survive by first round of exams! I still haven't found out how I did on a few of my exams, but I'm not overly happy with the ones that I've found out about. I'm still getting use to the school load in pharmacy school & am in the process of making my study habits better.

I've been having so much fun with all of my friends and Dani too. It's definitely keeping me sane through this semester. On Sunday my friends Mike & Mat came over for dinner. It's the first time that I've cooked a big meal all semester, and I've missed it! Yesterday Dani & I went to eat at Applebee's, and it was really good.
One of my favorite things that I do to unwind is playing volleyball on Thursday nights at the Stake Center. There's a lot of people from the student ward who come to play. I've met a bunch of people from the other wards that I didn't know, and I've got a lot more friends from the wards then I've had in the past few years. It's been great and has made me enjoy the student ward even more then I have in the past.

This weekend is going to be a lot of fun. I'm going to go bowling tomorrow with some of the people in my pharmacy class. My pharmacy class is the best ever, I couldn't ask for a better one!! Dani & I are going to watch a movie at the theatre (probably the late show) too. Saturday we're going to go to Fort Collins for something to do & to get out of Laramie for the weekend! I've been craving some Olive Garden and somewhere better to shop then Walmart!

I'm slowly recuperating from this wave of exams, and getting ready for my next set which starts in two weeks. It's going to be a fun weekend, & I'm super excited!!

Ready Or Not....

My semester so far has had a pretty slow start. Not with material (there's been plenty of things I need to know), but talking about homework and exams. In 4 weeks, I only had one exam. This week however, that started to change.

I had my first exam in Pharm Calc on Tuesday. It didn't seem like it was too bad, but it's hard to judge. I'll have to wait and see how it really went until I get my score back to be sure!

I have two exams this next week. The nice thing is that the majority of my exams are in class, there's only one class (Integrative Physiology) that I have to come in other then my class time to take the exam. My first exam for the week will be on Monday, which is going to be Biochem. This will be my second exam for this class! I'm a little nervous about it because the stuff we're talking about is pretty confusing. On Tuesday I have a quiz in Dose Form Lab, and I'm not ever sure what it's going to be over or how to study for it, so that's going to be very interesting. My second exam is on Wednesday for Dose Form. The material isn't too hard, but there's just a lot of it. There's going to be 8 chapters that we're tested over in one exam.

The week after that I have my first Integrative Phys exam on Monday, the 4th. I like Integrative much better then my Physiology class last semester. It's much more difficult, but the material is a lot more interesting.

These next 2 weeks are going to be busy with a lot of studying. The only nice thing about my exams is that they're always done toward the beginning of the week. For the rest of the semester there's only 2 weeks that I don't have at least one exam. One of those weeks is the week after my first Integrative exam. I even have an exam the week of Thanksgiving break. This will at least make me keep up with the material and not be able to procrastinate with studying like I have been a little bit. I'm studying better then I use to, but not nearly as much as I should be.

This semester is already going by so quick I can't believe it, and now with exams starting, it's going to go even faster then before!

The End Is In Sight.....

Today was officially my last day of classes for this semester! I've been so busy with tests this week and finals next week, it doesn't seem like school is ending. What happened to taking it easy & just watching movies to end the year on a good note?!

Today at school it was just another day of classes. In Physiology we met to go over the test answers that we took on Wednesday night. Organic Chemistry was just another lecture. In Med Micro I took a make up test. Afterwards I went to look at my exam results to find out how I did on the test. Let's just say it wasn't my worst test score ever but definitely not even close to my best. Later tonight at 4:10 I had a review for Organic that lasted almost 2 & 1/2 hours!

Finals are all that I have left. Monday morning at 10:15 I have my Med Micro final, which I can't wait for it to be over, it's been one of the toughest classes (possibly tied with Organic Chemistry II) I've ever taken.

I'm passing my Physiology class, & I'm satisfied with my grade so I don't have to take that final which would have been Wednesday morning. Since I'm not taking my Wednesday final, I don't have my last final until Friday morning at 7:30 (It was suppose to start at 8, but Dr. Corcoran is letting us have an extra half hour. We can't go later then the scheduled time but we can go earlier since it's the first exam of the day).

After my Friday morning final, I'm done with this semester full of stress, anxiety, and many near tear experiences! I'm having mixed emotions about it, I want next week to be here but I also don't feel prepared for my tests, I'm extremely nervous about my finals! Next Friday is going to be a GREAT day after it's all over.

On The Countdown....

Well the end of the semester is just around the corner, & I'm counting down the days until it's over. There's only two weeks of classes and then finals. Hopefully the time will go fast, which I'm sure it will because it's going to be busy, busy, busy.

This next week I have two tests and a lab practical. Tuesday morning I have a Med Micro test, Wednesday I have an O. Chem test, and Thursday I have my last Med Micro Lab Practical.

The following week I have an O. Chem Lab Final on Wednesday at 5:00 and a Physiology exam right after that at 7:30. Friday I have a make up exam for Med Micro because I didn't do as good as I wanted on my second exam.

My schedule for finals isn't too bad, but it's going to be very busy. I have a final Monday morning (for Med Micro), Wednesday morning (for Physiology- hopefully I won't have to take it if I'm satisfied with my grade on my third exam!), and Friday morning (for O. Chem).

Summer vacation is coming fast, this semester has just flown by. I can't believe I'm going to be done with my entire 2nd year of college!

This has nothing to do with my post, but I took some pictures today & I liked them so I wanted to put them on here! :D My hair is getting long again, I need to get another hair cut.

Exhausted.....

This has not been a fun week at all, I'm so glad it's over for the most part! It all started last week when I had to start studying for exams that were coming up. Two exams within 2 days of each other, both extremely difficult, and on top of it all lots of homework & reports to get done!

Saturday: I spent the day preparing my Sunday School Lesson. (Side Note: I was recently released from being an FHE Mom after a year and a half, and I have now been called to be one of the Sunday School Teachers for the Gospel Doctrine Class: SCARY!!) It took much longer then I originally expected, so I didn't get much else accomplished other than cleaning my house (which definitely needed it however).

Sunday: After I got home from church and feeling the relief of having my lesson done, I started in all the mountain of homework & studying that had to be done with week. I first tackled my report for Organic Chemistry lab, did my Med Micro & Organic Prelabs, and finished the night with studying for Med Micro.

Monday: Went to school from 8:00-11:00. School doesn't take too much time out of my day, which is really convenient when there's lots to do! I got home and wrote my Gram Stain report for Med Micro lab that was due at 8:00 the following morning , studied for my Med Micro exam until it was time for my Organic Chemistry review, went to my review from 5-7, went to FHE from 7-8, came home studied some more, & finally went to bed.

Tuesday: I woke up bright & early at 4 to study some more. Went to lab from 8-10. Took my Med Micro exam from 10-11. After that I took some time to relax because my brain was mush! Then I started to study for Organic Chemistry.

Wednesday: Again, I woke up bright & early at 4 to study. I went class from 8-11. After class was over I headed to the library when I studied from my Organic Chemistry exam until 2:00. Once 2:00 came, it was time for my Organic lab. Lab ran from 2:10-5, and of course the day of the exam it is naturally going to last the entire time! After leaving the lab, I rushed to the Classroom Building and took my O.Chem exam at 5:10. When I finished my exam, I still wasn't finished. I had another report to write for Med Micro lab, had to finish up my O.Chem lab that I didn't get done in the lab, and do my prelab assignment for Med Micro lab!

Thursday: I finally got to "sleep in" today (until 6:00, a little sad to be excited to get to sleep in until 6 if you ask me!). I've been at the school since 7:00 this morning. I got here early to look over everything before my lab, I went to class, then went to the library to do my tutorial for Physiology lab, went to Physiology lab, and I'm going to be at the school until 5:00 because there's a meeting about my Pharmacy interview that I'm going to from 4-5! Then finally all that I had to do will be done....

My week has been crazy! It will finally be back to normal after tonight. I have never been so excited for the weekend to be here! I will definitely not be procrastinating any more, I've learned my lesson! My few extra hours of freedom during normal weeks is not worth the stress I've been through this week...

2 Weeks Down.....

Two weeks have already gone by in this Spring semester, and it is already off to a fast start. I've only got 13 credits I'm taking this semester, but it's going to be more work then I've had in any other semester. The professors have gone through a ton of material in all 3 of my classes. My classes are all right in a row I go from 8:00 in the morning until 11:00, so my mornings are extremely busy!

On Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 8:00-8:50 I have Human Systems Physiology. This class is going to be very interesting. The course it taught by three different professors, & each one only gives one exam. Dr. Donal Skinner, Dr. Margaret Flanigan, and Dr. Michael Dillion are the 3 professors. Dr. Skinner is the first professor to teach. At this point in time, the material he's teaching is review from Biology I and Animal Biology, so it isn't too difficult at the present time. This class is very interesting, and it is finally easy to see why this class is important for pharmacy school!

Next on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 9:00-9:50, I have Organic Chemistry II. It is taught by my same professor from last semester, Dr. Robert Corcoran. Sadly, this class is going to be my easiest class this semester (how very sad)! So far the beginning of this class is much easier then the beginning of Organic Chemistry I. I'm not sure if it is because I know what to expect, or if the class truly is easier. I have heard that it is easier then the first semester, but I've also heard the opposite as well. I guess I'll soon find out as the semester continues. I have my first exam on February 3rd.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 10:00-10:50 is Medical Microbiology. This is definitely going to be my most challenging class ever!! (According to Jason it's even harder then any of the classes in pharmacy school!) Dr. Dale Isaak is the professor. He is a very entertaining teacher. I also find this class extremely interesting, which will help with my dedication to study because I desperately need to. I also have an exam coming up in this class on February 2nd... this exam has 65 pages worth of information on it & I pretty much have to memorize all of it!

Although I only have 13 credits, each class has a laboratory to go along with it. My Med Micro lab is Tuesday & Thursday morning from 8:00-9:50. This lab is very laid back, and my T.A.s and supervisor are very cool. It is really cool to look at all the specimen underneath the microscope! One of my really good friends, Allen, is in my lab, and we are lab partners so it makes going to lab much better. It is going to be a fun lab....

Wednesday from 2:10-5:00 is my Organic Chemistry lab. Once again I also have a very nice T.A. Her name is Stephanie Lyden; her & I actually were General Chemistry T.A.s together last semester. I also have a friend in this lab. Her name is Sarah and we are lab partners. We actually messed up the first experiment already (what a great way to start the lab)! The lab last semester was pretty interesting, & I'm sure this one is going to be the same way. Lab is definitely the best part of the class!

Thursday afternoon is my Physiology lab from 1:10-3:40. I'm not sure how this lab is going to be because it hasn't started. Next week is the first time we meet. This lab is different than any other lab I've had. There are actually only 4 labs in the entire semester. The rest of the weeks are Tutorials, which are pretty much like practice tests. I can't wait for this lab to start so I can finally get into my full routine!!

I'm super nervous for this semester & just want it to be over already. Hopefully it'll go by quickly, & it can all be behind me!!

One More Down.....

Well I am officially done with another semester of college. I had 4 finals last week and I am so glad that the week is over! Now I am home in Lovell & able to relax from schoolwork for an entire month, and I couldn't be more excited. :)

During finals week I had 2 finals Tuesday, 1 Wednesday, and then my last was on Friday. Tuesday I had my Human Anatomy final at 8:00 and then my Calculus final at 3:30, Wednesday my Organic Chemistry final was at 7:30 in the morning, and Friday my Statistics final was at 1:15. Thursday morning I had to proctor the General Chemistry exam at 8:00 in the morning and then grade immediately afterward.

Wednesday afternoon I went to lunch with my cousin Laura Hatch, who has become one of my best friends down in Laramie. It was fun but sad at the same time because this was Laura's last semester in Laramie, she has to go to Green River to finish her student teaching. I'm so glad we got to be such good friends but now I'm very sad that she has to leave.

Later Wednesday night, Mikey and I went to watch Old Dogs at the theatre. It was pretty fun because we were they only two in the theatre & the movie was great! We also listened to Christmas music and tried to put together 1000 piece puzzle, NOT EASY! We only got the boarder done before I decided to call it quits.

Thursday night Kristen Scheffler came to my house so we could hang out before I came home for the break. It's crazy we haven't seen each other most of the semester except maybe once or twice because of our busy schedules! It was a lot of fun, eating pizza & popcorn, and watching a movie. It wasn't quite the luau we had last semester, but it was still a lot of fun! It was great seeing all my friends before I went home for Christmas break, and it was also nice to break up my studying!!

Friday after my exam I got all my stuff packed, cleaned my house, and went to bed. I woke up Saturday morning, went to breakfast with Mikey, and then headed to Lovell at 10:00. Now I'm home in Lovell and it has been fun already. My sisters & I went to watch New Moon (it was mine and Kara's 3rd time, Emi's 4th time, & Dani's 2nd time [except she slept through it the first time]!).

It's already been a nice break, and it's only beginning!

Not Much Going On.....

Well I don't have too much going on right now...just school, homework, exams, and then I get to start all over again!

Two weeks ago Matt Koritnik, Kayla Green, and I headed to Lander for our sister's regional volleyball. The Lady Bulldogs did very well taking 2nd place at regionals, losing to Rocky in the Championship.

After getting back to Laramie and into my school routine, we had a BIG snow storm. Tuesday within about 2 hours it snowed about 3-4 inches! Laramie was supposed to get about 2 feet of snow in two days, but luckily we didn't get quite that much. I was really bumbed because all the roads were closed & I didn't think I'd make it Casper for State... as luck would have it the roads opened up Thursday after my classes, so Matt & I took off for Casper and skipped class on Friday because the roads were not in good enough condition to make a trip back to Laramie that night.

It was nice to have a long weekend with my family & watch Dani play her last year of volleyball! Well, she is quite the stud & and did awesome! Lovell placed 4th, the only team from the West to place at the state tournament!

With these 2 breaks, there's only 2 and 1/2 weeks until Thanksgiving vacation, after Thanksgiving break I'll have 1 more week of classes & then Finals are the following week!! The semester is almost over & I'm so excited!! For now though it's a lot of homework, pretty much the same routine every day, and not much to do in good 'ole Laramie! But the end is coming quick, so I can handle it for a few more weeks!

Lots of Work....

During the school week, I have so much homework. All I do is go to school, come home & do homework, go to bed, and then wake up & do the same thing all over again. It's not too bad though because it makes the time go much faster.

Exams have started in the past few weeks, and starting next week I have an exam at least once a week. I can't believe how fast this semester is going though, it's already October & I've already been in school for 6 weeks and there's only 10 more weeks left!! I can't believe how fast time flies!!!

I'm doing pretty well in all my classes so far, hopefully it keeps going that way. I got a B on my Organic Chemistry exam, an A on my Calculus exam, an A on my Statistics exam, and a C on my Human Anatomy exam.

Last weekend, I got to go home to Lovell because this week I didn't have any exams, one of the only 2 weeks this semester that I don't have any exams. I was so excited to see my family, I got to see everyone. Luckily, I went home because on Wednesday Melissa & her family moved to Phoenix. I got to watch both Dani & Emi play volleyball, and they did so awesome! I'm sad I don't get to watch them play more because it's so much fun. Katelyn, Jacob, and Darius look so much older. Laramie is different now that Kara & Jason moved to Lovell.

The next time I'll get to see my family is probably at Halloween in Casper when Dani is playing at state volleyball. Maybe possibly for regional volleyball, depending on my schedule & when Dani's games are. Hopefully everything works out & I can get down there. School is keeping me busy, busy, busy. Before I know it the semester is going to be over!

On top of going to class, being a TA, & homework, I also get to apply for pharmacy school! My application is due on December 1st!! I have to take my PCAT exam October 17th, it's coming up quick! I can't believe it's already that time to be applying for pharmacy school. If I get accepted the first time I'll start next fall and be done in 4 years! I'm so excited & hope everything works out!!!!

Fun's Over....

Well summer vacation has come & gone! I am now starting my sophomore year in college. This is going to be an extremely busy semester (I can tell already)!! On top of taking some very difficult classes this semester (Calculus, Statistics, Organic Chemistry I, & Human Anatomy) I am also a Chemistry 1020 TA, which means that I have to teach a Chemistry Discussion & Lab Section.

When Carla Beckett asked me last Wednesday (8/19...4 days before school started) if I'd be interested, it didn't sound too difficult so I told her I could handle it. Well, she didn't tell me that on top of teaching a discussion & lab, I also have to have an hour of office hours, an hour of Tutorial hours, attend weekly meetings (every Thursday), plus I have to go to a 4 hour safety training & another 1 hour safety training, attend the student safety training (which I have to teach part of), grade all the assignments from both lab & discussion, & proctor exams throughout the semester & grade them afterward. WOW, a little more time consuming than I thought, but it will be fun. Even though it makes me really nervous to get up & teach students who are only a year younger than me (some are older than me as well), I'm really enjoying it. Not only do I get paid to teach, but it will also look good on my application for pharmacy school :) !!!

This week I already have homework assignments in 3 of my 4 classes (Human Anatomy, Statistics, & 2 assignments in Calculus). Labs haven't even started yet, so when they start next week it'll be even more time consuming.

Even though it's going to be a lot of work, I'm really happy to get going & get into the grove of school again. I still have plenty of down time, which I use to study. This school year is going to be busy, busy, busy, but it's worth it. I really like all of my teachers they are excellent so far & are really nice. I'm sure as the year goes on I'm going to have to remind myself of this post (saying how happy I am about my busy schedule). Here's hoping for a fun semester!!
