High School Musical...

Yesterday after a long day of school, I went over to Kara's for a little while before FHE. Katelyn and Jacob insisted that I play doll house, which we did (for about 10 minutes). After they were so excited to tell me they watched High School Musical, and they wanted me to watch it with them again. Luckily the movie started in the middle of the show, and it didn't take long to finish. After it reached the end, Jake wanted to 'Get his Head in the Game' so we went to watch that number again. While it was playing Jacob was jumping on the bed and dancing up a storm with a nice little booty shake. :)

I couldn't believe when Kara came in and took my picture because as seen in the picture I was looking absolutely fabulous yesterday, but it's what I've grown to expect. :) I do have to admit that the picture is a cute one, so I had to snatch it from Kara's blog because I don't have many pictures of my own.

The rest of the time was spent doing Princess activities in Katelyn's color book. I then had to go to combine ward FHE at Baker. It was a lot of fun we played a couple games, got to be with friends, and ate food. You can't beat that!! The rest of the night was spent doing nothing but homework and then headed off to bed at midnight!!

Single Parenthood...

Since the beginning of my first year of college I've been the one of the Family Home Evening group leaders (a.k.a. an FHE mom) in my ward. When I was originally called, my partner was Ben Skinner and we got along very well and had a lot of fun planning activities. Well, at the beginning of the Spring semester Ben was released because he was called to the elders quorum, but I was still called as the FHE Mom. Needless to say I was a little bumbed because he was such a cool guy and it was a lot of fun to serve with him.

I got a new partner called the next week, and his name is Sean Redding. I have to admit I was a little skeptical because I didn't really know a lot about him, but he's turned out to be a pretty cool guy. We get along well and he's easy to plan activities with.

The sad news:
I went to talk to Sean at church today about what games we wanted to play at tomorrow's combined ward activity. After we figured that out, he dropped a bomb on me: he is being deployed on April 15th to Kuwait. Holy cow, I couldn't believe it. How sad and depressing, I don't know Sean all that well outside of FHE but SCARY!! Now I know having to plan FHE activities alone for a few weeks isn't anything compared to being deployed, but needless to say I'm a little nervous. I'm sure I am scaring myself to death for nothing because after all it is only 2 or 3 activities after that, but still I don't like it. So when April 15th comes, I will officially be a single mom of 24 kids!!!

The good news:
Our ward has an awesome "grandma" and "grandpa" in FHE. Jennie Case (grandma), who is probably one of the sweetest and funniest girls I've ever met in my life, and Brent Burton (grandpa), who is one of the nicest and happiest person I've ever met, are in charge of overseeing FHE. I'm sure they're going to be more then willing to help in anything and everything that I need because they are that way now. Everything will work out, I just needed a moment to freak out. :)

I absolutely love my ward. It is filled with the greatest, happiest, most helpful people who love the gospel that I've ever met. I'm so happy that I am able to be a part of such a great ward with an awesome bishop who cares so much about each and every member of our ward. I didn't know what to expect going into a ward of college students, but the individuals in my ward are so strong in the church it's amazing. They love the gospel so much. It's nice that I can surround myself with those who believe in those same things I do, and also have them be so important in their lives as they are in mine. My ward is where most of my friends that I've made at school have been, and I'm so happy that I've been able to surround myself with people like that.

Spring Break '09....

Spring Break was so much fun. I was so happy I got to see my family and friends. It was so nice to be able to relax and not have to worry about school.

Friday after I got with class I headed to Casper to watch State Basketball. Sadly our boys lost, but it was so fun to be at state with the fam. The rest of Friday afternoon consisted of watching a lot of basketball.

The next morning, I got up, got ready, and headed back to Lovell. I arrived home at 4:30, got ready, and was off to Katie's reception by 5:30. Katie and Richard's reception was beautiful, and I was so happy I was able to be home for it. I'm so happy for Katie and Richard, they're so cute together, I love it!! After helping clean up at the reception, Wendy, Lauren, Kristin, Lacee, and Ashley came up to my house and we hung out for awhile. It was nice to not have to be at home alone for the rest of the night!!

Sunday and Monday nothing too special happened. They were just lazy days, filled with nothing but being with the family and relaxing. Driving around and hanging out with the sisters was really fun, I miss them way too much when I'm in Laramie

Tuesday, I headed down to the Lovell Drug to refresh my Pharmacy Tech skills so they wouldn't get too rusty before the summer. Believe it or not, I actually like to work at the Drug Store :) (Which I guess is a good thing considering that's the field I'm going into).

Wednesday I had a hair appointment. I went to Billings and had Melissa cut and color my hair. I got some shopping in, and was able to see my precious nephew, Darius, who is growing up much too quickly. After getting back from Billings, I hung out at home for about an hour before hanging out with friends.

Once again Thursday was another lazy day. (I love those kind of days, you just need them sometimes.)

Friday, Dani and Emi got out of school around 1:30 so we got to hang out again. Later that evening I hung out with my friends again. It was a lot of fun to get to see everyone.

Saturday, Twilight came out, so naturally Emilee and I were estatic. We buzzed up to Cody to buy for copy of the movie. We did a little shopping, got a bite to eat, then headed home. That night the entire family went and watched Confessions of a Shopoholic at the Hyart. It was a lot of fun.

Sunday, sadly came too quickly and I had to pack up my vehicle and head back to Laramie for school, Spring Break couldn't last forever (but did it have to go by so quickly?!).

The nice thing is, though that now the school year is flying even faster then it was before. Before I know it I'm going to have one year of college under my belt, CRAZY!!!

It was so nice to get to see my family, I love them and miss them so much. It's nice to be back and finish things up and get summer vacation here in a hurry. My professors had no problem jumping right back into class. It's been busy, busy, busy. I guess that's life!!!

It's Almost Here...

These past two weeks have just flew by. I can't believe that I'm going to be leaving on Spring Break on Friday; it's great. It'll be really nice to have some time off, but I'm a little worried that I won't want to come back :S, we'll see I guess.
Melissa, Derek, and Darius came down last weekend, and I had so much fun. Thursday night I did something I never thought I'd do. I was waiting up for the troop to get here (Melissa said they should get to Laramie around 12:30), when I woke up at almost 1:00, they still weren't there. Immediately I start to freak out thinking the worst. Luckily, about two minutes later they arrived. On Friday Melissa convinced me to skip Trig so we could go eat at Applebees, it was delicious and totally worth skipping :). I had a lot of fun hanging out with my sisters this last weekend, and the game was a really good game (the Cowboys lost by 1).
I'm excited to get to go home this weekend and see the rest of my family. It'll be nice to be able to be at home for a few days and not have to turn around and come back to Laramie after two days. This week is flying by so far. It helps that I had an exam on Monday in Government and then one today in Animal Biology. As stressful as it is to study for and take an exam, it helps the time go A LOT faster. Now, all that is left for me to do is do a few simple homework assignments, and wait patiently for Friday to get here. Hopefully the rest of the week goes by as fast as these two days have!!!
Here are some pictures from this weekend. I love the little guy, and so does everyone else. Who wouldn't?! (Thanks for the pictures Lou!!)

Road Trip....

Friday after my Government class I got to go home to Lovell for the weekend. Since I didn't have a ton of homework like I usually do, I figured I better take advantange of the opportunity. My English class was cancelled on Friday and I decided to skip Trigonometry. The weather wasn't cooperating in the morning so I also ended up skipping my Chemistry class thinking I'd get away an hour earlier. Well, I didn't think I was going to get to go because the roads weren't looking too good, especially because I was going to be travelling alone.

Well, the sun came out and the roads became dry so off to Lovell I went (two hours later then planned but that's ok). The drive was perfect besides the wind that was blowing, which isn't unusual. I got into Lovell around 4:30 and headed over to the last high school basketball game for this season. During the varsity boys halftime, the class of 2007 dedicated the jersey that Brad wore all through high school and had it framed. I was very happy I got to be there for that.

On Saturday Danielle and I went up to the Trappers game because Wendy Walker, who plays for Casper College, was playing in Powell. Afterwards, we went to Hansel's which took us two hours before we got out of the restraunt. The rest of the night was spent hanging out with the fam.

I left at 1:15 today, and had a long drive home. I got home around 7, ate dinner, and of course finished off the night with some homework. It's not a weekend without at least a little homework right?!? I'm glad to be out of the car, but wish I could have stayed in Lovell a little longer, two days just isn't enough.

Even though it was a quick trip I'm really glad I got the chance to see my family, watch some basketball, and have fun. It was totally worth it.
