Ready Or Not....

My semester so far has had a pretty slow start. Not with material (there's been plenty of things I need to know), but talking about homework and exams. In 4 weeks, I only had one exam. This week however, that started to change.

I had my first exam in Pharm Calc on Tuesday. It didn't seem like it was too bad, but it's hard to judge. I'll have to wait and see how it really went until I get my score back to be sure!

I have two exams this next week. The nice thing is that the majority of my exams are in class, there's only one class (Integrative Physiology) that I have to come in other then my class time to take the exam. My first exam for the week will be on Monday, which is going to be Biochem. This will be my second exam for this class! I'm a little nervous about it because the stuff we're talking about is pretty confusing. On Tuesday I have a quiz in Dose Form Lab, and I'm not ever sure what it's going to be over or how to study for it, so that's going to be very interesting. My second exam is on Wednesday for Dose Form. The material isn't too hard, but there's just a lot of it. There's going to be 8 chapters that we're tested over in one exam.

The week after that I have my first Integrative Phys exam on Monday, the 4th. I like Integrative much better then my Physiology class last semester. It's much more difficult, but the material is a lot more interesting.

These next 2 weeks are going to be busy with a lot of studying. The only nice thing about my exams is that they're always done toward the beginning of the week. For the rest of the semester there's only 2 weeks that I don't have at least one exam. One of those weeks is the week after my first Integrative exam. I even have an exam the week of Thanksgiving break. This will at least make me keep up with the material and not be able to procrastinate with studying like I have been a little bit. I'm studying better then I use to, but not nearly as much as I should be.

This semester is already going by so quick I can't believe it, and now with exams starting, it's going to go even faster then before!

Round 2.....

Last night I got to go to my second concert; Dani & I went together. This time it was Dierks Bentley & Lynyrd Skynyrd. Instead of being in the Arts & Science Auditorium, it was in the Arena Auditorium. Boy this concert was packed and extremely loud. It made the Rodney Atkins Concert sound like it was coming out of a pair of headphones in comparison to a huge boom box turned up as loud as it would go. I had a hard time hearing after it was all over. We got to the AA a little before 7 to find parking because the doors opened at that time. The concert was suppose to start at 8:00, but it ended up starting fifteen minutes late because people were late getting into the arena. We had pretty good seats, we were almost dead center and the top row of the first section of seats. Before the concert started, we bought a shirts for each one of the performers.
Dierks Bentley was the opening act. This is truly who I went to the concert to see! I absolutely love him & his music. Needless to say he didn't disappoint. WOW is all I can say!! He's got an amazing voice, even when he's live. He sang all of my favorite songs, interacted with the crowd & got everyone into it, and ended his portion of the show with my all time favorite song "What Was I Thinkin'." His part lasted for about 50 minutes of the entire show. He started his performance at 8:15 and ended around 9:05. There was a 25 minute intermission while they got everything set up for "the main event."
Lynyrd Skynyrd started at 9:30. I have to be honest I wasn't excited to see them at all because I don't know a lot of their songs. I knew it would be a good show, especially because they've been doing it for so long. Their performance was amazing!! I found out that I knew a couple more songs by them then I thought and the ones I didn't know I really liked! They ended their part with my all time favorite song by them "Sweet Home Alabama." After a ton of cheering, they came out for an encore song, my other favorite by them "Free Bird." I was a little sad what it ended completely at 10:50. It was pretty long, but totally 100% worth it!!
I had some videos of some of the songs they performed, but I'm not able to upload them.

Concerts are my new favorite thing to go to. Dani & I had such a fun time, it was a great time & an excellent start to this exciting weekend!! I don't even know what to say about this concert, it was amazing. I went only expecting to enjoy one of the act, and the opening act at that, & to my pleasant surprise I loved the entire show!! I can now say that I have been converted to a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan as well as a Dierks Bentley fan!!

A Much Needed Break.....

This past weekend I got a nice break and got away for Laramie. Dani & I headed to Lovell after we got out of class on Friday. We got into town around 4 & headed to the drug store to see my dad. After hanging out at the store & being at home seeing my mom, we headed out to Kara's to see how her house is coming along. Of course we had to eat at Blimpies and head to the big high school game!! To finish off the night, I hung out with Michael & Jordan. We listened to music, helped Michael's brother move into their new house, and then Michael & I headed to his house to talk and get things ready for his gig the next day.

Saturday I spent the day at home. In the afternoon I went and got ice cream with Michael. After that short break I stayed at home. Kara & her family came to the house to visit later that night. On Sunday before we left we ate an early dinner. We left around 2:30 and got into Laramie around 8:30.

Now it's back to school and work. It was a nice break, too bad it wasn't longer. I'm not sure if I'm going to get back to Lovell again until Thanksgiving break. I loved seeing my friends and family again, I've missed them a lot. I can't wait to go see everyone again, I miss them already!!

Exciting Night.....

To finish off the Memorial Day weekend before everyone had to head home, Dani & I had some friends over before Zac had to head back to Lovell. It was a fun night watching a movie, playing Wii, making some interesting drink combinations, and taking some awesome pictures!! It makes school a lot more interesting when you act crazy & just have a good time!! It was such a fun weekend hanging out with Dani's (and my) friends.

There are lots of pictures because mostly we had a photo shoot, but that's what made the night so fun!

Activities Calendar.......

Since I've been down in Laramie not only have I been busy with school and my new calling, I've also been busy with different activities these first few weeks of classes. The first week of classes the LDSSA put on different events every night to get to know the new students and also spend time with old friends.

We had a barbecue and then a bonfire & fireside in the mountains on Tuesday & Wednesday (24th & 25th). On Thursday (26th) we played Singled Out at the Institute & later that night, a few of the kids from the institute played volleyball at the stake center. After I got out of class on Friday (27th) Dani & I went to watch the UW volleyball games. Later that night we went to Friday Night Fever, which was a comedy show this time. Saturday (28th) was some more volleyball games and later that night was a Single's Dance.

Monday (30th) was FHE at Washington Park. On Wednesday (1st) there was a free concert at Prexy's Pasture. Jon Schmidt played, & it was AMAZING!! I bought a songbook and got him to autograph it!!
Thursday night (2nd) we played volleyball again at the stake center. Yesterday though was what I've been waiting for ever since school time has gotten close: Cowboy Football!! We played SUU. It was a pretty good game, UW won 28-20!! It was actually a night game too. The past 2 years I've been here, we never had any night games, but this year the majority of the games!! A bunch of Dani's friends came down this weekend to watch the game. It's been a lot of fun hanging out with all of them for the past few days.
I've already done more in these past few weeks then I did all last year. It's made it a lot more exciting, and it's way better then sitting at home alone. I've already made some new friends, who are awesome, and it's great that Dani is getting to know new people too. I can't wait for more fun times to come, it's going to make this year great!
